Two impaired drivers arrested 30 minutes apart

Two impaired drivers found themselves on the wrong side of the law, when they were arrested in separate impaired driving incidents 30 minutes apart

According to an RCMP press release, shortly after 4 a.m. on Dec. 6, an RCMP member came across a motor vehicle collision involving a Toyota Corolla and a local taxi.  The 35-year old driver of the Corolla was noted to be impaired and was arrested for impaired driving.

Just half an hour later, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a member of the Goose Bay RCMP was on patrol and observed a vehicle being operated in a suspicious manner.  A traffic stop was initiated and as a result, the 21-year old driver was arrested for impaired driving.  In both cases, RCMP say the blood alcohol level was quite high. Both men were later released from custody and will be appearing in court at a later date.

RCMP reminds the public to make arrangements for a taxi or a designated driver and arrive home safely and ask if you see a driver who may be impaired to contact your local RCMP detachment.
