Baie Verte RCMP says they currently have a number of open files for investigations into incidents that have happened in the area over the past couple of weeks, and have made responses to calls for a number of issues and situations.
Police say that on July 5, a tourist from out of province collided with a moose on Highway 410 while driving his motorhome. There were no injuries and the moose was killed as a result of the collision.
Sometime between July 6 and July 8 a propeller and other accessories were stolen from an outboard motor on a boat at the Baie Verte Marina. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call the Baie Verte RCMP or Crimestoppers.
On July 7 a 50 year-old male from Ontario was arrested for sexual assault following a reported incident at a business in Baie Verte. The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in September in Baie Verte.
A male resident from Nippers Harbour was picked up for impaired driving on July 8. He is scheduled to appear in court in Baie Verte on charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and drug possession.
RCMP say there was considerable damage done to the front of a business on Highway 410 in Baie Verte during the early morning hours on July 10th. The damage is believed to have been caused by a motor vehicle. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call the Baie Verte RCMP or Crimestoppers.
Police are also still investigating the collision of a truck that was carrying explosives at the time, that happened on July 10 near Baie Verte.
As well, also on that day, a 39 year-old male was arrested for failing to abide by conditions. He was subsequently brought to court in Grand Falls-Windsor where he was released by the judge on more conditions. The male is scheduled to appear in Baie Verte court in September.
