Two charged with impaired driving in separate incidents

A 48-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer 9:45 p.m. Sunday after RNC officers responded to a call of a disturbance between a male and female on New Gower Street in St. John’s.

The RNC says the investigation is ongoing and further charges may be laid surrounding the disturbance.

The accused was released to appear in provincial court at a later date.

In a separate incident, about  7:15 p.m., as a result of a collision on Duckworth Street in St. John’s, a 40-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.

There was a three-car collision with extensive damage and no injuries incurred.

The accused was released for court at a later date.
