Powerball: The winning numbers have been drawn for an estimated $1.3 billion jackpot

The winning numbers for the estimated $1.3 billion Powerball jackpot — the fourth-largest prize in lottery history — have been drawn.

Saturday's winning numbers are 44, 27, 52, 22, 69 and Powerball 9.

The drawing was delayed by hours, with Powerball saying “as a participatory lottery, additional time is required to complete the necessary pre-draw procedures.”

“According to the rules of the Powerball game, every ticket sold nationwide must be checked and verified against two different computer systems before the winning numbers are drawn. This is done to ensure that every ticket sold for the Powerball drawing is accounted for and has an equal chance of winning. One lucky winner in Saturday night's Powerball drawing could receive a prize in annual payments or an estimated total of $608.9 million.

The jackpot jumped to $1.3 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday night's drawing, making it the fourth-largest jackpot in Powerball. It's the eighth-largest US lottery jackpot, worth more than $1.13 billion Mega Millions Jackpot Last week was a win in New Jersey.
