Two men were caught in the act of breaking into the Mary Brown’s restaurant in Marystown Saturday.

Scott Thorne, 42, and Shawn Edward Sheppard, 33, have both been charged with disguising themselves with the intent to commit an offence and break and enter into a business.

Thorne has also been charged with breaching an undertaking and probation.

The pair appeared before a judge Sunday and were held in custody to appear in the provincial court in Grand Bank today for a bail hearing.

Burin Peninsula District RCMP officers from Marystown, Grand Bank and St. Lawrence responded to the call.

It was the second time the restaurant has been broken into in recent months.
