RNC make arrest in armed robbery investigations

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) criminal investigation division has arrested and charged a 27-year-old St. John’s man in relation to a number of robberies and armed robberies in the St. John’s area.

RNC investigators with the help of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have charged the man with robbery and disguise with intent in the Jan. 20 robbery at Ultramar on Kenmount Road; armed robbery, disguise with intent and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose in the Jan. 24 armed robbery at Marie’s Mini Mart on Thorburn Road; robbery and disguise with intent in the Jan. 27 robbery at Marie’s Mini Mart on Crosbie Road; armed robbery, disguise with intent and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose in the  Jan. 29 armed obbery at Ultramar on Kenmount Road; armed robbery, disguise with intent and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose in the March 19 armed robbery at Marie’s Mini Mart on Blackmarsh Road.

RNC say the accused was arrested without incident and will be appearing in provincial court today.
