CORNER BROOK  A Cow Head man, whose name is withheld to protect the identity of the pre-teen niece he sexually assault, was handed a four-month jail sentence by provincial court Judge Kymil Howe Monday in Corner Brook for that crime.

He also received another 30 days in prison for breaching a no alcohol court order, and a suspended sentence was imposed for a breach of a no contact order with children under the age of 16. The overall sentence was reduced by the 34 days he had already served in custody since his latest arrest July 5.

The man in his 50s cannot remember kissing his niece on the lips while she was lying on a couch, nor waiting outside the bathroom door to hold her in his arms and kiss her again, due to his level of intoxication
