Caribous thrash Flyers at home

The Clarenville Ford Caribous got off to a fast start tonight at the Eastlink Events Centre (EEC) against the visiting Gander Flyers.

The Caribous led 4-0 after the first period and never looked back en route to a 7-2 win.

Defenceman Justin Pender had two goals in the game, while Chad Earle, Ryan Desrosiers, Stuart MacRae, Kenny Mahoney and Kevin Reid all scored for the home team as well.

Tyler Carroll and Justin Barbour scored for Gander.

Tyler Whiffen got the start in the net for the second straight game for the Caribous.

The two clubs will clash again tomorrow afternoon at the EEC at 1:30 p.m. The game will be the final home contest of 2016 for the ‘Bous.
