As a kid, I recall my dad pointing up Killdevil Mountain as we drove along the stretch highway at the base of the steep incline.

"Me and Uncle Mike went hunting for hare up there one time," he said, referring to a time before the Gros Morne area was a national park and hunting was prohibited.
In the subsequent years, I drove by Killdevil too many times to count, always fascinated by its intimidating stance that dared even the devil to venture upon it.
Often, friends and family less familiar would ask if that was the famed Gros Morne Mountain most hikers tackle.

The view from atop Killdevil Mountain in Gros Morne National Park is nothing short of awesome, especially on a beautiful autumn day.
