SPRINGDALE, NL — The Green Bay Community Employment Corporation is celebrating October as “Community Living Month” by holding its annual walk in Springdale Monday (Oct. 30).

It will begin from the Springdale town hall at 11 a.m. and progress toward Manual Hall at the Springdale Stadium. A lunch will be served at the destination. There will be displays, information, the sharing of success stories, and more.

The Green Bay Community Employment Corporation is a nonprofit government funded employment agency that provides employment related services to persons with developmental disabilities in the Green Bay area. The purpose of the supportive employment program is to give these individuals a fair and equal opportunity to gain meaningful and rewarding employment within the community.

The Green Bay program is celebrating “16 years of success” in the area, and promoting a new initiative in the community — Care2ride. This program is a multi-community volunteer-based service that provides transportation for seniors and individuals who live with mobility challenges.
