Published on July 13, 2017

Five people have been appointed to the Labour Relations Board by the provincial government.

Brenda Grimes, executive director of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, will serve a five-year term as vice-chair.

Appointed to two-year terms as regular members and employee representatives are Christina Rose Kennedy, a legal counsel and an employee relations officer with the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE), and Sean Noah, an educator who most recently served as principal at Cape St. Francis Elementary School in Pouch Cove.

Jacqueline Penney, a lawyer serving as corporate counsel and corporate secretary to the board of directors of Marine Atlantic, is on board for two years as a regular member and employer representative.

Larry Pittman, president and founder of BlueSky Business Consulting, will complete the remainder of Penney’s first term and then begin his own two-year term as an employer representative.

The appointments were made through the merit-based appointment process established by the Independent Appointments Commission Act.
