The Rebels, accompanied by assistant coach Todd Loveless and principal Janet Loveless, travelled to Point Leamington on Saturday, November 23, to take on the Bulldogs in a best three out of five games match to determine the qualifying A-division team to travel to Rushoon for the provincial competition.
The JWA girls, playing against the same team they beat in Hermitage in 2012, easily took the first three games, allowing Coach Todd to rotate his girls in and out, giving all the teammates an opportunity to play.
“It was an easy victory for the girls who have been practicing all fall for these tournaments,” said Todd. “Now they have to practice for the next level of play in Rushoon where they will compete against other A-division teams like Port Rexton and Musgrave Harbour.”
The Rebels will travel to the provincial competition on December 5, 6 and 7. This marks the sixth year in a row that the JWA girls have competed at the provincial level in volleyball: one year they went as a wild card, two years as 2A winners, and this marks the third year as A-division winners.
