Springdale joins forces with Gander to win gold

The U20 Springdale Bravettes and Gander Flyers a.k.a. “Spander” joined forces to win the provincial U20 “B” female tournament hosted by the Springdale Minor Hockey Association March 25-27.

The U20 Springdale Bravettes and Gander Flyers a.k.a. “Spander” joined forces to win the provincial U20 “B” female tournament hosted by the Springdale Minor Hockey Association March 25-27.

Five teams participated: Goulds, CB Regional, Cee Bees, Lake Melville and Springdale/Gander.

Springdale and Gander went undefeated. They went up against favoured Lake Melville in the championship game winning an exciting 3-2 match up.  

Bravettes player Demi Pelley was awarded the Mayor’s Cup for her outstanding efforts during the weekend. The award is given to the most skilled and sportsmanlike player during the tournament. This has been her third time winning the award.
