BAIE VERTE -

Two females brought home a bronze medal after competing in the Youth Bowling Council (YBC) provincial tournament in Grand Falls-Windsor on February 28.

Lindsee Clark bowled a five game total of 877, along with Terri-Lynn Baggs bowling a 1068 total.

"We had a long weekend in Grand Falls-Windsor," said program coordinator Janice Acreman. "I think the bowlers had a great time."

Ms. Acreman said it is a great learning experience for young competitors.

"For a couple of the bowlers it was their first time going as singles bowlers and there is some really good competition," she said. "They had fun and made some new friends.

"The other three bowlers, Andrew Regular, Josh Haggstrom and Zac Bailey, bowled well, but it wasn't their time. However, next year they will be more experienced."

Ms. Acreman said although she was away with the YBC bowlers in Grand Falls -Windsor, she was told the combo portion of the provincials held in Baie Verte went really well.

"All the bowlers came from centers that had automatic scoring and this was something different for them to come here and have scorekeepers keep track of their scores," she said. "They really enjoyed it."

The Kinsmen bowling alley was also presented with a Newfoundland and Labrador Youth Bowling Council Provincial plaque for co-hosting the provincials.
