Just past Wednesday midnight, the RCMP in Grand Falls-Windsor responded to a report that a woman was being assaulted by a man outside an apartment complex and that the female was then taken inside an apartment.
The result was that a 45-year-old man from the central Newfoundland town was arrested and is facing three charges of assault, two charges of uttering threats and one charge of break and enter.
The accused is expected to appear in provincial court today.
The call came in to police about 12:10 a.m. today. In fact, several reports were called in to the RCMP about the incident at Judges Terrace Apartments.
Witnesses state the accused forced himself inside an apartment and assaulted a male resident there.
The accused then left the apartment with the woman and began assaulting her outside the complex. Another man, a resident of an apartment there who was witnessing what was happening, attempted to stop the assault and he was allegedly assaulted by the accused.
The accused is said then to have uttered death threats to that man.
