Thousands of Coaster followers recently read Jeanette’s Herritt’s story online, in the print edition and through Facebook sharing.
In the article published February 18 she mentioned travelling to Halifax for a second opinion on her prognosis. She did meet with a surgeon in Nova Scotia on February 10.
“I feel more positive after meeting with the surgeon in Halifax”, she told the Coaster correspondent. “He told me that my oncologist in Newfoundland was doing the right thing for me and to continue on the path of chemotherapy treatment that he had prescribed.”
The Nova Scotia surgeon explained to her that surgery may be an option. Once she finishes her chemo on April 2, she will have another CT scan, and if a big difference is noticeable between that scan and the December 2013, scan, he will bring her back to Halifax to discuss an option for surgery which he told her would be major.
Meanwhile, donations, now over $14,000.00, continue to arrive, and Jeanette remains positive, having faith in the effects of the chemotherapy and in the advice of the Halifax surgeon.
