The development, which has previously been called Glencrest, is currently in the early phases of development.

Williams has said the 2,400 acre project will create a development the size of Gander.

The development is often casually referred to as “Dannyland” or “Dannystan.”

The announcement will take place at 11 a.m.

Who really cares what this development is called? How much did this land cost Danny Williams ? How did he find out that the land was available and why didn't it go to public tender ?

Good luck Danny. Since you are busy with this and don't have the time to get back to politics, I guess you will be supporting Fabian Manning in his bid for the leadership. come on Fabian, announce it already and get the ball rolling.

It appears that much of the land that is being developed was once under the control of the Government of Newfoundland through the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation (NLHC) for use as affordable housing development. Why did the NLHC sell all of this land to a developer? The land should be expropriated and returned to the Crown for use in developing affordable housing and not developed as some high end gated community full of McMansions for the benefit of the oil rich!
