In 2014, Humane Harvesting Training on the three-step process will be mandatory for all commercial seal licence holders. The Canadian Council of Professional Fish Harvesters in collaboration with regional sealing associations and provincial training boards (where available) are working in order to ensure that all sealers have access to the training.

If you have participated in a Human Harvesting Training Session recognized by Canadian Council of Professional Fish Harvesters and can provide proof of this training, then you meet the mandatory training requirement.

If you have not taken the training, please contact your regional sealing association or the Canadian Council of Professional Fish Harvesters for locations of upcoming Humane Harvesting Training sessions. Eligibility for a sealing licence is contingent upon completion of the Humane Harvesting Training.
