Two drivers charged with impaired after collisions in St. John’s

Two drivers were charged with impaired driving overnight after they were involved in collisions in St. John's.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, officers responded to a collision on Torbay Road at Newfoundland Drive around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

A 23-year-old male driver of one of the vehicles was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. There were no injuries. The man was released to appear in court on the charges.

Around 3:15 a.m. this morning, police were called to a report of a collision on Cornwall Avenue in St. Johns.

A driver allegedly struck a parked car. A witness alerted the RNC, who located the vehicle and driver involved.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. There was moderate damage to the vehicles involved. This man was also released and is to appear in court on the charges.
