The Department of Transportation and Works says that a number of roads in Central Newfoundland are slippery this morning because of last night’s rain and freezing rain in a number of areas.

The Trans Canada Highway from Gander to Grand Falls-Windsor is wet and slippery and slushy in sections.

Grand Falls-Windsor to Hampden Junction is slippery, and motorists are advised to use caution.

TCH leading to Twillingate is also slippery with slushy conditions and the roads leading to Wesleyville from Gambo and Gander are much the same.

Buchans highway is described as Slippery with Wet and Slushy sections.

Roads in Green Bay South are slippery as Freezing Rain continues to fall there. The Department is issuing a Caution warning on Springdale road because of slippery conditions there and finally, they say that all roads on the Baie Verte Peninsula are “extremely slippery” and advise motorists to use “extreme caution.”

A reminder to all to be safe if venturing out on travels today.
