STEPHENVILLE  While no charges have been made, police are still investigating a massive fight that took place inside Domino Pizza House in the early morning hours of Sunday.

Police received a total of three calls about the incident at about 3 a.m., with one caller reporting that there were 20 to 35 people involved in a fight inside the building.

When members of the RCMP arrived they witnessed what they called a chaotic scene with large crowds both outside and inside the building fighting; however, on their arrival a number of individuals outside ran away.

Members forced their way inside to where multiple males were still involved in striking each other and managed to break up the fight and arrested two males, a Stephenville Crossing man and a Stephenville man – both in their 20’s, who seemed to be the ones who sparked the melee.

Cpl. Steve Henley said an investigation into the matter is continuing and charges could be pending the result of their investigation. Police are asking any witnesses with information on the fight to contact the Bay St. George RCMP at 643-2118.

Two males who were involved in the fight were known to have attended the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for treatment of injuries. From the initial investigation, the fight is believed to have started at another location at Main Street and resumed at Domino.

Police believe that everyone involved in the fight were intoxicated.
