Nalcor Energy reports that 1,519 people were working in August on all components of the Muskrat Falls Project.

Each month Nalcor Energy publishes a benefits report, available online, summarizing the employment and expenditure (economic) benefits generated from the Muskrat Falls Project.
The August report notes that of the 1,519 people working, about 76 per cent (1,152) were residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The breakdown also includes that 974 people were working directly in Labrador and that 40 per cent of the work completed in Labrador was done by Labrador residents.
In fact, the report shows that employment of Labrador residents rose 22 per cent over the previous month, and employment from Labrador Aboriginal groups grew 16 per cent. A total of 388 of the total workforce were Labrador residents, and 186 of these residents are members of Labrador Aboriginal groups.
Total expenditures for the Muskrat Falls Project were over $38 million in August. This includes: More than $27 million to businesses in Newfoundland and Labrador, representing 72 per cent of all project expenditures. Over $20.7 million of that amount was spent with Labrador companies, representing about 76 per cent of provincial expenditures and 54 per cent of total project expenditures.
