Premier Kathy Dunderdale will attend the 37th annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers in La Malbaie, Que., on Sunday and Monday.
This year’s conference is co-hosted by Quebec Premier Pauline Marois and Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee.
A news release notes discussion topics are to include the region’s energy future, regional initiatives encouraging greater use of energy-efficient vehicles, adaptation to climate change and mutual assistance during times of emergency, as well as a number of other issues of regional importance.
The conference represents 11 jurisdictions, comprising the six New England governors and the five Eastern Canadian premiers.
