Dog perishes in house fire

A young couple lost their pet dog when a fire broke out in their home this morning.

The Corner Brook Fire Department is currently on the scene of the fire at 4 Happy Valley Road.

The couple was at work when they got the call their home was on fire. The dog was alone in the house when the fire started.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but is believed to have started in the basement.
