"Ovations" kicked off in St. John's this afternoon, with Premier Kathy Dunderdale beaming out at a crowd of more than 500 women in the Delta Hotel.

"Ovations" is Dunderdale's brainchild, and it's being billed as "applauding accomplishments of women in our communities."

This afternoon, women will be holding a forum with a keynote address from Iron Ore Company CEO Zoe Yujnovich.

There will also be an evening event held at the St. John's Convention Centre.

Ovations to successful women and to those who have maintained strong moral character on their way to success. Unfortunately, we know that the opposite can be true, as evidenced with some PC party female members. Disappointing.

Dunderdale didn't seem all that concerned about women when her Labrador MHA was verbally harrassing Yvonne Jones in the House of Assembly. It's nice to have a convenient conscience.

This is all about getting as many women to vote for her as possible.

Dunderdale's "brainchild"......are we paying for this or her?
