Labrador constable charged with child luring over the Internet

The Labrador Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer charged with child luring over the Internet, was released on bail Monday.

Ian James Kaulback appeared in provincial court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. He was first arrested Friday, Feb. 8 and subsequently charged with unlawfully luring a child (under the age of 16) by means of a computer system over the weekend.

Kaulback’s bail hearing was scheduled to start earlier in the morning, but was delayed until the middle of the afternoon. He was released from custody with a list of conditions he must follow.

Kaulback is due back in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on April 30 to enter a plea to the charge.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) criminal investigation division is taking the lead in the investigation and has directed all inquires about the case to RNC media relations. The investigation is ongoing.

The court has imposed a publication ban on further information related to the case.
