A bus carrying employees from the Buchans mine flipped on its side due to high winds, the RCMP reports.

There were about 15 passengers on board but no serious injuries reported.

Police and emergency crews are currently on the scene.

The bus flipped on its side in a ditch about a quarter kilometre past the golf course heading towards Grand Falls-Windsor.

Police would like to remind the public that road and weather conditions are still not favourable, and if you do not need to be out on the roads to stay home until conditions improve.

This is weird, back in the early 70's I was heading west with a passenger one winter night about the same time of year in a volkswagen "beetle" and similar winter conditions as I remember. Once we crossed the "Rushy Pond" bridge the wind (coming off the pond) blew the car across the road to the opposite shoulder where it got traction and continued on as we got back to the west lane. Had there been oncoming traffic, we would have been toast.
