On Wednesday January 9th, 2013 at approximately 10:45 PM the Springdale RCMP and Springdale Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at the Home Hardware building in Springdale. The Springdale and King's Point Fire Department's attempted to put out the fire and protect surrounding homes.

The Home Hardware building became engulfed in flames spreading to the warehouse and the connected Bank of Montreal. All the buildings in the connected commercial strip were incinerated. Some homes have damage to the exterior of the building due to the extreme heat of the fire.

There were no injuries as result of the fire and at this time the fire isn't believed to be suspicious in nature. Further investigation on the cause of the fire is ongoing.
