Springdale’s first ever ‘Cub Car Rally’ was held on Friday. The now annual event took place at Indian River Academy where members of the Cubs group raced their custom built cars on a 32-foot wooden track. Prizes were awarded to Mitchell Downton for First place, Jake Matthews for Second Place, and Christopher Pelley for Third Place. Also recognized were those with the ‘Koolest Car,’ Most creative, best paint job, and most original. The cubs started their cars with a block of wood and four wheels, and built their creations from there. Next year, organizers hope that Springdale will compete with other Cubs organizations throughout the province. Thanks goes out to businesses and volunteers who helped make the event a success.
