National Police Week celebrated in Springdale

The Springdale RCMP have mostly moved into their new headquarters, and took up the new location just in time to celebrate National Police Week. Police Week is dedicated to increasing community awareness and recognition of police services in an area, while strengthening police-community ties. There were a range of RCMP Police Week activities taking place all over Newfoundland and Labrador and across Canada this past week. Members of the RCMP in Springdale held a community barbecue on Friday and residents of Green Bay enjoyed free burgers and a guided tour of the new building. A formal grand opening will be taking place sometime this summer.
