RCMP seize marijuana plants, weapons

Springdale RCMP thwarted a 49-year-old’s attempt to successfully operate a marijuana grow operation in the east end of town.

Springdale RCMP thwarted a 49-year-old’s attempt to successfully operate a marijuana grow operation in the east end of town.

On August 28, the RCMP located and seized the plants in the woods.

Further information received also indicated the Springdale resident was in possession of weapons while prohibited. As a result of the information, the RCMP prepared and executed a search warrant, where numerous weapons were seized, including a compound bow.

In addition to the weapons, a bag of marijuana containing over 30 grams was also located and seized.

Subsequently, the male was arrested regarding the seizures with charges pending and has been released on a Promise to Appear in Springdale provincial court on November 2.
