For Tiffany George of Springdale it is all about giving back.

The six-year-old has been working hard to raise money for a cause that means a lot to her.

Since January 25, Tiffany has been collecting money for the Canadian Red Cross Haiti relief fund.

"I thought it would be nice for Haiti so they could buy food," said the six-year-old.

Tiffany was inspired to raise money after the country's capital Port-au-Prince was pounded with a 7.0-magnitude earthquake in early January. Most of the frail infrastructure was destroyed, leaving thousands dead and homeless.

The United Nations estimates the death toll could reach 200,000.

But Tiffany isn't only raising money for Haiti relief; she is also going to cut off 11 inches of her hair for Locks of Love.

"I was very reluctant - I tried to put if off. But when the earthquake occurred in Haiti, she got very concerned for the orphans there. So she talked me into getting this started," laughed Tiffany's mother Terri-Lynn.

To get more momentum behind the cause, Tiffany's mom started a Facebook page.

While her mom was getting the word out, Tiffany was eager to raise as much money as possible.

So the elementary school student established a booth at Foodland on Saturday, January 30, with homemade signs saying 'Hair for Haiti' and 'Locks of Love.'

After a week of fundraising, the six-year-old raised $1,577 for Haiti relief.

"We're very impressed and very pleased," said her mother.
