RCMP investigating suspicious fire

A fire that destroyed a shed in Rattling Brook is being looked into closely by the Springdale RCMP detachment.

Const. Mike MacKay said the matter is being treated as arson.

The shed was located near the main wharf in Rattling Brook.

He said a call came in regarding the fire during the early morning hours of January 28.

Const. Mike MacKay said the matter is being treated as arson.

The shed was located near the main wharf in Rattling Brook.

He said a call came in regarding the fire during the early morning hours of January 28.

"I got down there and the building was still smoldering," he said. "I spoke to a few people around town and there's no witnesses or suspects."

Const. MacKay said the incident occurred sometime between midnight or in the early morning hours of Jan. 28.

He said the shed is roughly valued at $2,000 and fishing equipment that was stored in the shed is approximately worth $1,000.
