The nor'wester has just learned that a fire has broken out within the local fire hall in Baie Verte. A volunteer firefighter has indicated that the blaze has not yet been subdued and there are fears that the air compressors located inside may explode. The damage done thus far is extremely extensive.
This is a significant blow to the Baie Verte Volunteer Fire Department, which had already lost its training facility back in November of 2009 due to arson. We will provide update as soon as new information becomes available.
