The director of Health Services for Green Bay Health Centre Melinda Noel says there are no issues regarding ambulance services, while the health centre is down one.
"While we've been going through this transition, we have had no issues with the service we've been providing, and we do have coverage for prompt response at all times," said Ms. Noel.
For the time being, the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre is borrowing an ambulance belonging to Green Bay Health Centre, because of a transitional phase the health centre is going through.
Because of that, Green Bay Health Centre is down to only one ambulance.
"In any event, the service that we currently provide, like meeting the needs of the people in Green Bay and specifically the Green Bay Health Centre - we always have coverage," she said.
She said if the ambulance from Green Bay Health Centre is called to respond to an emergency, another ambulance comes here to cover this area.
"There will be a backup community ambulance called to come to our site. The ambulance doesn't leave until the other one is en route," she said. "We still have coverage all the time, just by a different provider."
Ms. Noel couldn't specify when Green Bay Health Centre would get back its second ambulance.
"I haven't been given any timelines, except to say that they are working in Baie Verte to obtain a new ambulance for their site," said Ms. Noel.
