Fire destroys smoke house

Baie Verte RCMP are investigating a fire that destroyed the fire department's training facility. The smoke-house is about a kilometre north of Baie Verte. The building was in flames Saturday night. The structure was used to train volunteer firefighters in safe entry and exit methods in smoke filled environments. Police say it's a significant loss to the fire department, which is operated solely by volunteers.
