Numbers released for advanced polls

A total of 15,199 votes were cast Tuesday in the advance polls for next week’s provincial election.

According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, that more than doubled the advance polling numbers for the 2007 provincial election in which 7,553 advance votes were cast.

The provincial election day is Oct. 11. There are 381,047 eligible voters in the province.
